10 things to check before buying a used car in the Philippines

Buying pre-owned is smart — if you check the right things. Here's a quick rundown before you commit.

  1. OR/CR — make sure the Official Receipt and Certificate of Registration are clean and match the unit.
  2. Engine — start it cold, listen for knocks, check for smoke and leaks.
  3. Mileage — does the odometer match the car's overall condition?
  4. Tires & brakes — even wear and good pad life save money later.
  5. Body & paint — look for mismatched panels or signs of repaint.
  6. Flood/accident history — check under carpets and in the spare-tire well.
  7. Electronics — aircon, power windows, lights, infotainment.
  8. Test drive — brakes, steering, transmission shifts, alignment.
  9. Service records — a documented history is a great sign.
  10. Total cost — factor in transfer, insurance and any financing fees.

Every RideAgain unit is sold on an as-is, where-is basis — so it always pays to view and look it over yourself before you buy.
